Premiere oft he Duo 

For the opening ceremony for the Black Forest National Park we erected our 18X21 Duo Variant (tent) on the car park of the Ruhestein Nature Conservation Centre, located at an altitude of about 1,000m. The tent, offering seating for a good 1,000 persons, was well frequented during the official part of the opening ceremony on May 3rd and this despite the fog and the rain. State Prime Minister Kretschmann and Minister Alexander Bonde emphasized in their speeches the importance of the park. “Today’s official opening of theBlack Forest National Park is an historical occasion for the State of Baden-Württemberg, nature conservation in that state and the preservation of biological diversity. The national park thus represents an important investment in our future,” Kretschmann stressed.

In addition to the official part of the celebrations, there was also a colourful supporting programme aimed at both young and old lasting the entire weekend. This was taken advantage of in particular by the ca. 10,000 visitors on the Sunday in glorious sunshine. As well as guided tours of the park, there were cultural highlights on the stage, a veritable adventure mile with numerous stalls offering information on the topic of the National Park and nature plus a comprehensive children’s programme.

“The national park is something special which is why we wanted to hold the opening ceremony in a special location. We therefore decided in favour of this exceptional tent,” explained National Park Manager Wolfgang Schlund.
