Premiere of the new BaseXtensions

In the last few years, we have received more and more requests from our customers about whether it was possible to build a higher Opera Tent. 

The reason was essentially always the same: they wanted to install an LED wall within the curved roof. A square peg in a round hole, so to speak. 

Critics might say: Good, just use a standard stage roof – then the LED wall can be hung directly from the roof. But that is exactly what our customers don’t want! We offer our customers an optically attractive and stunning stage – and not just a standard product.

With the BaseXtension, we can give our customers exactly what they’re looking for. The roof height can be variably adjusted between 80 and 160 cm. And this is possible independent of any other installations, such as a stage or truss systems. 

This concept is especially relevant for large events with standing audiences. The Love Family Park with its approximately 25,000 visitors was the first festival at which the BaseXtension was used. Already in 2014, Jochen Schwalb, the technical director, asked if such a thing were possible.

In 2015 we were able to offer him a technical and structural solution. Jochen Schwalb, Planwerk-Events GmbH & Co. KG: “Because we were searching for an unusual stage roof for our event, one that we could also use with an individual height, the use of BaseXtensions was a super solution. And the ever-increasing regulations have also been implemented. The setup is uncomplicated and well thought out.”

The BaseXtension fits both sizes currently found on the market – 10x12 and 18x21, as well as the size currently being developed– 15x17. This size was introduced to the market in 2016.
