50th anniversary of Suedpack

Premiere of the Quadro

On the event of its 50th anniversary, Suedpack held a company celebration with its employees, customers and business partners from the 25th till the 27th of September 2014. For this occasion we constructed the closed Quadro variant of the basic dimensions 18X21 and with a roofed over area of more than 2000m². The Quadro consists of 4 individual roods that may be joined together by way of an intermediate tarpaulin to form a large event hall. In this way a self-supporting room more than 35m in size with impressively dome-shaped roofed areas is created. Thanks to the curved design of the end and intermediate tarpaulins the tent may be shaped individually. In this way it is possible to create both partially open and completely closed rooms and equip them differently. From simple standard white side walls with zip-up doors to side walls with window foils and permanently built-in doors of aluminium and glass. In addition to the large main tent we also supplied a number of pagodas and kitchen tents and equipped all tents with cassette floors. In order that the guests should not have to freeze due to the low external temperatures we also supplied the appropriate tent heating systems.

“We would not have been able to achieve such a flair in any other event hall,” says the Managing Director Johannes Remmele. He explains why Suedpack decided in favour of our somewhat unusual tent variant in the following words: “This tent is unusual. It is not what we are familiar with here in Southern Germany, nor is it that which has also achieved international fame due to the Munich Oktoberfest. When our customers come to SUEDPACK they are thinking of packaging. This is why we wanted the packaging of our anniversary celebrations to be something special.”

On September 25th Suedpack invited a good 350 customers, business partners and representatives of the economy and politics to a symposium which took as its motto “Future Summit”. As well as the food trends researcher Hanni Rützler the guests experienced a podium discussion on the topic of packaging involving experts from Suedpack. Subsequent to that, the trends researcher, journalist and management trainer Sven Gábor Jánszky held a talk on the subject of “Worlds of Experience”. The evening event of this customer happening captivated those attending with a wonderful gala dinner accompanied by stage performances and live music.

On the evening of the 26th the workforce of ca. 1,000 gathered to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company with an elaborately shaped programme, great food and excellent music.

Opera GmbH & Co. KG does not only offer exclusive tent construction in the shape of its trademark “Opera-Tent” but also, under its trademark “Opera-Eventtec”, classic event technology such as light, sound, multimedia, stage and rigging. Thus it was that we supplied the technology (light, sound and rigging) for the event along with the event itself. This has a number of positive effects, particularly for the final customer. The assembly of the tents merges with the assembly of the technology. These synergy effects save both time and money. We also, with particular respect to ambience lighting, have had a great deal of experience with our tents. Staged properly, the dramatically curved roofs show themselves to particularly good effect. In this case, less is often more.
