About us

Since 2009, Opera-Tent has stood for exceptional tent architecture that combines design and function.

To this day, the company remains family-run and is based in Kutzenhausen, Bavaria. With great dedication and passion, we design and manufacture our own event tents – Made in Germany, featuring our patented innovative Flexkeder connection technology. Whether it’s a festival, a corporate event or a private celebration – we create flexible space solutions for organisers looking for something special.
Whether you rent or buy – with our experience, creativity and attention to detail, we create mobile event structures that combine emotion and technology into a unique experience. If our standardised tents are not sufficient, we adapt them to the specific requirements or, on request, develop entirely new concepts.

From theoretical model to finished product

… it is a tricky business. This is particularly true for mobile structures. Striking a balance between mobility, cost-effectiveness and safety requires expertise, innovative ideas and the courage to combine tried-and-tested methods with newly developed systems. We design our roof systems in-house. This means that the practical experience of our entire team, as well as feedback from our customers, is incorporated into the design process. From real-world experience, for real-world use! Modern 3D CAD systems enable us to turn futuristic-looking, pre-stressed structures into buildable designs in a short space of time. This gives us the strength and flexibility to thrive in the fast-paced events industry. With its attractively curved rooflines, our tent system offers a stylish alternative to conventional tent and stage structures. Various setup options and different sizes allow for numerous applications. This system can serve as an airy partial canopy, a stage with excellent acoustics, a grandstand cover, or simply as an exclusive enclosed event hall.

Roofs that stand out from the norm in more ways than one

Whilst the wind pressure and wind suction coefficients for tents and stages with flat surfaces can be taken directly from the standard, this is not the case for us. Although a structural engineer can apply the values specified in the standard to the shape to the best of their knowledge and belief, only a wind assessment can provide real certainty. We wanted to be absolutely certain, so in 2013 we commissioned a wind tunnel test from Wacker Windingenieure. They constructed a modular model of the roof and fitted it with around 140 pressure measurement holes. It was then subjected to wind flows in 24 wind direction increments of 15°, and the roof membrane was divided into zones of equal wind pressure and wind suction, which were then incorporated into the calculations for the structural framework and membrane dimensioning. We were particularly interested in the stage version with a closed side, where wind loads were expected to be at their worst due to wind-trapping effects.

Roofs that have been officially approved

Our roofing systems have been certified by TÜV Süd in accordance with building regulations. Certification documents are available for all three sizes.
